A Helmholtz coil is a device for producing a region of nearly uniform magnetic field. Our equipment consists of 3 axis of two electromagnets on the same axis. A Helmholtz pair consists of two identical circular magnetic coils that are placed symmetrically along a common axis, one on each side of the experimental area. Besides creating magnetic fields, Helmholtz coils are also used in scientific apparatus to cancel external magnetic fields, such as the Earth's magnetic field. Our Helmholtz pair, minimizes the nonuniformity of the field at the center of the coils. Our Helmholtz Coil equipment is also designed for up to 12U cubesat or 40 X 42.5 X 45 cm measurement region.
We have a testing area of slightly greater than 40 x 40 x 40 cm (nominal at 40 x 42.5 x 45 cm).
The amount of magnetic field used for the equipment can be adjusted in all axes, according to current settings.
We used high thermal rating magnet wire for equipment safety, fire prevention,
and to meet industry standard design requirements.
